On May 17, Law Forward and Georgetown University Law Center’s Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection filed a lawsuit on behalf of two lawfully elected Wisconsin presidential electors and one Wisconsin voter against twelve individuals who allegedly conspired to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

The Wisconsin voters allege that the defendants orchestrated and executed a plan to pose as lawfully elected Wisconsin presidential electors to send fraudulent certificates in favor of Donald Trump to Congress.

The Wisconsin voters seek judicial orders declaring that the defendants acted unlawfully and an injunction to correct the historical record and bar the defendants from fraudulently serving as a presidential elector in the future. Additionally, the plaintiffs seek monetary damages and have asked the court to impose statutory fines.
