The White House on June 15 released a 32-page government-wide strategy for countering domestic terrorism. The framework draws on the assessment of the government’s efforts to address domestic terrorism that President Biden ordered on his first day in office in the wake of the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol.

The strategy is organized around four main pillars: understanding and sharing information related to domestic terrorism, preventing domestic terrorism recruitment and mobilization, deterring and disrupting domestic terrorism activity, and addressing the long-term issues that contribute to domestic terrorism.
