This is very exciting: Shane Harris has a new blog: Dead Drop, a "blog about national security and Washington." Shane, for those readers unfamiliar with his work, is a national security features writer over at Washingtonian. He's also the author of The Watchers---a terrific book about the history of data-mining in national security. And he's doing a lot of interesting work on cybersecurity, drones, and other stuff as well. It is a sign of my regard for Shane, who is also a good friend, that he was the inaugural guest on the Lawfare Podcast. The idea that Washingtonian is getting behind a dedicated national security blog is excellent as well. So far, Dead Drop has had the following posts, in addition to Shane's welcome message:
- What Zero Dark Thirty Gets Right About the Search for Osama bin Laden
- Professors and Ministers of Technology Defend Us!...from Killer Robots
- Do You Know Your Local Bank Robber?
Lawfare readers of all types will want to check this out.
