Latest in War Crimes Act
The Justice for Victims of War Crimes Act would finally give the U.S. the ability to prosecute suspected war criminals found inside U.S. borders, regardless of nationality, and now Congress needs to close other loopholes in order to promote justice for international crimes.
A U.S. prosecution under the War Crimes Act might be simpler than an international war crimes tribunal—and more effective.
Congress needs to immediately amend the War Crimes Act to align federal criminal jurisdiction over war crimes with the international law concept of universal jurisdiction.
