Staten Island Man Charged With Threatening Post-Election Violence

A Staten Island man was arrested by federal law enforcement on Nov. 10 in connection with threatening on social media to kill protestors, law enforcement officers and politicians in retaliation for the U.S. presidential election. The 54-year-old man, Brian Maiorana, was charged in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York with making threatening interstate communications. According to the complaint, Maiorana had been posting violent messages on social media platforms since September, and his most recent posts included calls for violence against those celebrating the election outcome and claims that the presidency had been “fraudulently stolen from us.”
