On June 6, a federal grand jury charged Proud Boys leader Henry “Enrique” Tarrio and four other members of the far-right group with seditious conspiracy in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The new superseding indictment charges Tarrio—along with existing co-defendants Dominic Pezzola, Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs and Zachary Rehl—with one count of seditious conspiracy and one count of conspiracy to prevent an officer from discharging any duties.

The Justice Department previously leveled the seditious conspiracy charge against the founder and leader of the far-right group Oath Keepers, Stewart Rhodes, and 10 Oath Keepers members.
