On March 25, Reps. Jim Jordan (R.-Ohio), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee; James Comer (R.-Ky.), chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee; and Bryan Steil (R.-Wis.), chairman of the House Administration committee, issued a second letter to Manhattan District Attorney (DA) Alvin Bragg regarding their request for documents and testimony regarding the indictment of former President Donald Trump in New York.

In the letter, Jordan, Comer, and Steil argue that the DA’s efforts are being made “under political pressure from left wing activists” to indict Trump, so their respective committees must now consider whether “Congress should take legislative action to protect former and/or current Presidents from politically motivated prosecutions by state and local officials, and if so, how those protections should be structured.”
