Five Eyes Cybersecurity Advisory on Cyber Threats to MSPs
On May 11, the cybersecurity authorities of the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States released a joint cybersecurity advisory to protect against the cyber threats to managed service providers (MSP) and their customers.
The advisory provides tailored guidance and resources for MSPs and their customers to reduce “their risk of falling victim to a cyber intrusion.” The advisory includes best practices for information and communications technology and improving communication between MSPs and their customers with securing sensitive data. The recommendations stem from several ongoing collaborative efforts between agencies like the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, Canada’s Centre for Cyber Security and the National Security Agency. The latest guidance builds upon past alerts warning of cyber actors' increased targeting of MSPs to “exploit provider-customer network trust relationships” and “enable follow-on activity—such as ransomware and cyber espionage.” You can read the full alert here or below.
