We are delighted to announce a new series of book events we'll be running with the Hoover Institution at its beautiful Washington offices. The Hoover Institution's National Security, Technology, and Law Working Group is putting together a monthly series of conversations between one of us and authors of important new books on nationals security related themes. The conversations will take place in the context of a reception with food and drink and will be filmed and recorded for video airing and podcasting on Lawfare.

Our first guests, on October 21, will be the authors of two important new books on the Islamic State: Washington Post reporter Joby Warrick and Brookings Institution scholar William McCants. Ben will conduct the interview.

Our November guest, whom Jack will interview on November 10, will be Charlie Savage of the New York Times, who will discuss his new book, Power Wars: Inside Obama's Post-9/11 Presidency

Here is the invitation to the October 21 event, which will take place between 5 pm and 7 pm at Hoover's offices at 1399 New York Avenue, NW, Suite 500. RSVPs are required.
