As we shared earlier, Lawfare is seeing a dramatic increase in readership. We think this reflects the importance of what we publish and are excited that the national security legal issues we’ve long cared about are now resonating with an even larger audience. Below is a comparison of our traffic this month versus the same period last year:
But unexpected growth also comes with costs. Despite having a professional-looking website (at least we think so) and being staffed at the Brookings Institution, the reality is we are a tiny non-profit 501(c)(3) of three full-time employees. Lawfare is a labor of love supported by a community of national security law enthusiasts who all care a lot about the same issues, even if they often disagree on the substantive outcomes.
We need your financial support to keep growing.
One incredibly generous Lawfare reader, who prefers to remain anonymous, has agreed to match any donations made to us in the next week up to $5,000, ending on Monday, February 6th. In explaining why, the donor writes:
Now more than ever we need credible and disciplined analysis of national security law. Lawfare is playing a really important role by doing what it's always done, offering serious views from experts and legal practitioners. I want to support that work and encourage others to do the same.
Please consider answering this call and donating to Lawfare while you can double the impact of your contribution. You can do so by clicking on this Donate button:
Thank you to our generous matching donor and to all of you for reading.
