A criminal complaint unsealed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California alleged that IRS employee John C. Fry unlawfully disclosed confidential reports about former Trump attorney Michael Cohen in violation of the Bank Secrecy Act. The complaint, initially filed on Feb. 4, charges Fry with violating 31 U.S.C. §5322(a), which criminalizes the unlawful disclosure of suspicious activity reports. The U.S. attorney’s office issued a press release and released the criminal complaint, which is provided in full below.
