Department of Justice Investigating Potential Pardon Bribery Scheme

A document unsealed by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Dec. 1 reveals that the Department of Justice is investigating a possible scheme involving political contributions in exchange for a presidential pardon, CNN reports. The partially-redacted court filing shows that Chief Judge Beryl Howell reviewed an August request from prosecutors to access documents related to an alleged bribery-for-pardon scheme.
