Lawfare is now accepting resumes from part-time freelance copy editors and proofreaders to contribute to our high-impact, nonpartisan website examining issues at the intersection of national security and the law, published in cooperation with the Brookings Institution.
Successful candidates will bring demonstrated experience editing nonfiction articles for grammar, clarity and style. A national security background is not required, but the ideal candidate has a keen interest in Lawfare’s core subject areas of national security, law and the institutions of governance.
Preferred: Familiarity with Associated Press style.
Essential: A willingness both to edit pieces on short notice and to engage with authors on complicated substantive issues.
Interested candidates, please submit a cover letter and resume by Jan. 20 to [email protected] with the subject line “[COPY EDITOR].” Please attach your cover letter and resume as a single document when you apply. Applicants must also submit contact information for at least two previous copyediting clients as references.
