Having recently gone through the prepublication review process, I’d like to offer my own thoughts on the process—which I’d give a mixed review—along with suggestions for evaluation criteria that should be helpful in assessing any overdue reform initiatives
Thomas Reed Willemain is Professor Emeritus of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, having previously been a professor at MIT and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He is also Co-Founder/Senior VP Research at Smart Software, Inc. He has served as an expert statistical consultant in the Research Directorate of NSA and on the adjunct research staff of the Institute for Defense Analyses Center for Computing Sciences. He holds the BSE (summa cum laude) from Princeton and the SM and PhD from MIT, all in Electrical Engineering.
