Authoritarians’ use of influence operations must be understood as part of a larger strategy to reshape the information space into one that is less democratic and more friendly to despots.
Laura Rosenberger is the director of the Alliance for Securing Democracy and a senior fellow at The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF). Before she joined GMF, she was a foreign policy advisor for Hillary for America. Prior to that, she served in a range of positions at the State Department and the White House’s National Security Council (NSC). She served as NSC director for China and Korea and in a variety of positions focused on the Asia-Pacific region at the Department of State.
