North Korea may be developing a new submarine with the capability to launch nuclear missiles, says South Korea, reports the Wall Street Journal. South Korea’s military saw satellite imagery that revealed workers and transportation of materials at the port city of Sinpo. The construction comes after a summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in which the two parties agreed to denuclearize the Korean peninsula.
California has passed a new digital privacy law that provides new online privacy rights to consumers, according to the New York Times. The bill gives consumers a right to be informed about all of the data companies are collecting about them, including what data is collected, why the data is collected, and with whom the data is shared.
In Carpenter v. United States, the Supreme Court ruled that under the Fourth Amendment, the government needs a warrant to collect cell-site location data, according to the New York Times. The decision was 5-4, with Chief Justice Roberts joining Justices Breyer, Kagan, Ginsburg and Sotomayor in the majority.
