NDAA Moves Forward, “Due Process and Military Detention Amendments Act” Coming Soon

A quick note updating readers on the progress of the draft NDAA FY’13:  Chairman McKeon’s bill passed HASC last night in the wee hours.  Next stop: the floor, where we are likely to see, among other things, debate over an amendment called the Due Process and Military Detention Amendments Act, which I understand may be sponsored by Representatives Adam . . .

Wednesday’s SJC Hearing on the Due Process Guarantee Act

I’ve blogged before about S. 2003, the “Due Process Guarantee Act” introduced late last year by Senator Feinstein, which would amend the Non-Detention Act to provide that An authorization to use military force, a declaration of war, or any similar authority shall not authorize the detention without charge or trial of a citizen or lawful permanent . . .
