The Brookings Institution has released the following video, in which I offer some thoughts on the accuracies and inaccuracies of Zero Dark Thirty. I will be treating this subject in more depth in a review I am writing on some recent books, film, and a graphic novel about the Bin Laden raid.

The number of Assyrian Christians kidnapped by the Islamic State continues to rise. The New York Times reports that, according to one local Assyrian leader, 287 people have now been captured by the militant group, and dozens of villages in northeastern Syria have been emptied of residents.
